There is not too much that can be taken away from the Chicago Bears’ first preseason. The game is more of the groundwork of what is to come rather than the end of the road of end all be all. However, some players are starting to trend in the right direction while others will not.

Which players were able to show well, and which may have been given chances by the coaches because they showed well in practice?

5. Adam Redmond

This will likely get breezed over because, in reality, the Bears could play James Daniels and Cody Whitehair at center if needed. However, the current backup center on the roster in theory would be Adam Redmond. In the Bears’ first preseason game, Sam Mustipher played into the third quarter, getting every snap with Justin Fields.

Then, the team turned to Redmond. Other players could have been that guy, and Dieter Eiselen is viewed behind him on the pecking order because he could have stepped into that role. It is small, but you keep a guy around if you trust him snapping the ball. The Bears may do that with Redmond.
