4. Jordan Lucas

This had to be expected considering he was the first name to return punts for the Chicago Bears. When Tarik Cohen is healthy that will be his job, but we cannot be certain when this will happen. Beyond that, while it is expected that Khalil Herbert will return kicks, Lucas got work there as well.

This appeared to be a surprise to many, but all of a sudden Jordan Lucas has enough value that you do not expect him to be let go. Even if he does not return kicks, he is a special teams asset, and also saw significant snaps at safety on Saturday. We know that Deon Bush is the third man behind Tashaun Gipson and Eddie Jackson. DeAndre Houston-Carson has the edge on Lucas, but that could be a competition over the next few weeks. Even still Lucas is likely now ahead of Teez Tabor and Marqui Christian for the fifth safety.
