Chicago Bears Players Whose Stock Rose: Rodney Adams

Wait. Are you telling me there was even a third offensive player who stood out? The answer is yes. Rodney Adams was already on the rise after a good showing in training camp over the last few weeks. He has been taking advantage of his opportunities and looks to have a very good shot at making the final roster over the likes of Javon Wims and even rookie, sixth-round pick Dazz Newsome.

Newsome looks to be destined for the practice squad to start the year. This could easily be due to falling slightly behind because of a broken collarbone that he recently overcame. However, with the emergence of guys like Adams and Riley Ridley, the Bears have the luxury to stash Newsome on the practice squad until needed or until he proves he’s worth a spot.

Rodney Adams saw significant action in this game. He led the team in receptions with four and also led the team in receiving yards with 57. Adams had one drop in the game I am sure he would want back, but he rebounded quickly and looked as though he deserved to be on the starting roster. If Adams does not make the Chicago Bears’ final roster, he will not be able to be stashed on the practice squad as other teams will likely swoop in and steal him.
