Chicago Bears: 4 players who are making roster cuts difficult

Players making roster cuts difficult for the Chicago Bears: Rodney Adams, WR
Throughout training camp, rookie quarterback Justin Fields has become particularly close in chemistry with wide receiver Rodney Adams. Because he has worked primarily with the twos and threes, Fields has not had a real chance to catch on with the top targets of this offense.
In the team’s first preseason game, one could see that Adams was definitely a favorite target of Fields, as he led the team in catches (four) and receiving yards (57). Adams made one specific catch in that game that stood out — one he had to go up and over a cornerback to snag the ball and come down with it. It was an excellent play by Adams.
With other receivers like Javon Wims and Riley Ridley being on the roster bubble, Adams is now making things tough on those two. He’s looked good in camp and looked great in his first preseason action, while Wims has dropped some passes and had a costly penalty last Saturday.
Ridley hasn’t gotten much of a chance over the last couple of years and had reportedly taken a while to catch on to the playbook as a pro. Adams seems to be making a legitimate push to take the final spot in this receiver room. If the coaching staff is going based on what they have seen this year, it should be Adams’ spot to lose, quite frankly.
