The Chicago Bears first preseason game was a chance for many players who have been performing in practice to show that they can still perform under the bright lights. However, no player makes the roster off of one preseason game. The process is about stacking weeks together and showing that it is not a fluke.

With that in mind who are some players who may be able to make big moves with an impressive performance in week two.

5. Elijah Wilkinson

Elijah Wilkinson started at left tackle and the team swiftly signed Jason Peters not long after. That may not be a good sign for Wilkinson. However, it could equally have been a blessing in disguise. Germain Ifedi is still on the PUP and is unlikely to play. That means that Wilkinson will get his second straight start, but this time it will be coming on the right side. Lachavious Simmons played the whole game in week one and did not show much. Wilkinson should jump across and be right ahead of Simmons.

Wilkinson started a few games at right tackle last season with Denver and with Ifedi still banged up, there is a lot to gain here. If Wilkinson can show that he can hold down the job it at least has to make Chicago consider who will start at right tackle. That would be a big step for Wilkinson that would start with a big game Saturday.
