5 Chicago Bears players who deserve more action in preseason

Chicago Bears Player No. 4: Jesper Horsted, Tight End
Last year, the Chicago Bears carried four tight ends: Jimmy Graham, Cole Kmet, Demetrius Harris, and J.P. Holtz. This year, it seems Jesse James has replaced Harris perfectly as he looks to be an upgrade impressing greatly at training camp and developing a great connection with rookie quarterback Justin Fields.
Now, Jesper Horsted has something to say. As Holtz is still fighting to retain his fourth spot on the depth chart, Horsted has been turning heads as of lately in training camp. With Cole Kmet and Jimmy Graham missing practice on Wednesday, Horsted saw some time with the starters. How’d he do with that given chance? Well, he only scored five touchdowns in one practice.
Horsted showed flashes in the 2019 preseason and then it translated against the Dallas Cowboys in a regular-season game in which he caught four passes in a year that the Bears had virtually no tight end help. Last year though, he got demoted to the practice squad with the addition of Graham, Kmet, and Harris.
Now, Horsted isn’t giving up without a fight like last season. However, we need to see more live action from him. The Bears need to play him more and get him the ball more.
