2. Chicago Bears Roster Predictions: Bears trade Riley Ridley

Remember, Riley Ridley is a recent fourth-round pick who was viewed as arguably the best route runner in his class. That high praise still has to be on the minds of some NFL general managers out there. But, Ridley’s time on the Bears could be coming to a close.

Already, we have seen Chicago cut ties with former seventh-round pick Javon Wims. Now, it’s going to be between Ridley and veteran Rodney Adams for the sixth wide receiver spot (assuming Chicago keeps Allen Robinson, Darnell Mooney, Marquise Goodwin, Damiere Byrd and Dazz Newsome).

Ridley’s trade value has to be somewhat reasonable. Rather than simply cutting Ridley, the Bears will end up trading him. His name certainly has something to do with his value, along with the fact that teams haven’t truly seen what he can do yet as a pro.

A team like the New Orleans Saints makes a ton of sense, mostly because they will be without Michael Thomas for a while. They are looking for a possession type wide receiver, and that’s exactly what Ridley could offer them.

If the Bears could trade Ridley for virtually anything at this point, instead of releasing him, then it would be considered a win.
