Lachavious Simmons

Simmons saw every snap at right tackle in the first two games. Then, in week three, he played six snaps. It was almost as if they had seen enough of him, and not in a good way. The reality is that Elijah Wilkinson took all of those snaps. To start the preseason Elijah Wilkinson was the backup at left tackle to Teven Jenkins.

When Teven Jenkins went down, Wilkinson became the incumbent, of course, until Jason Peters signed. Larry Borom also got healthy and slotted into LT behind Peters, which caused Wilkinson to move to the right side.

It appears as though Wilkinson is the backup right tackle over Simmons, with Germain Ifedi starting. That means another practice squad year for Simmons who should be able to use this as a learning experience.
