1. Dazz Newsome

Dazz Newsome is the most likely to return and the most needed to return. It is fair to say that if Newsome did not suffer an injury in OTAs that he would be on the roster. However, that injury may help Newsome and the Bears in the long term.

It hid Newsome early in the preseason and there is very little tape of him out there. However, he did come back, and he is showing himself as a punt returner.

Next. 5 big notes from initial 53-man roster. dark

Newsome may need to step into the roster sooner than later and return punts because Tarik Cohen Is out for the first six weeks. So, the Bears may have let Newsome go, knowing that he has two more weeks to get healthier. They knew he would not get claimed because of his limited reps, and they knew that they could stash him on PS for a week or two, then bring him back up when he is ready to return punts. Keep an eye on Newsome’s name on the transaction wire.
