The Chicago Bears need to keep Aaron Donald in check on Sunday

Let’s start off with the most obvious, shall we? If the Bears want to have any chance in this game, they will need an answer for Aaron Donald. Donald is no doubt the best defensive player in the league and is a legit game wrecker.

These two teams have faced off each of the last three seasons and to their credit, the Bears have had success in containing Donald. In 2018 and 2020 they did a solid job, giving up 0.5 sacks combined. In their 2019 meeting, Donald was certainly a force. He finished the game with two sacks, four combined tackles and a pass defended.

We have seen just how bad this offensive line has been this preseason. The hope is that since we hardly saw all five of the starters together, that the team will magically just gel and look 100 times better than they did while missing Jason Peters and Germain Ifedi. That’s doubtful with Aaron Donald starting across the way.
