A gem in 2020 could lose its shine for the Chicago Bears in 2021

The offensive line for the Bears saw an absurd amount of changes due to injury and lack of production. One positive from the year was the emergence of Sam Mustipher.

Mustipher is a 2019 rookie from Notre Dame who signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent. He emerged as a solid solution for the Bears at center in 2020. By the time training camp rolled around, the starting center job became Mustipher’s to lose.

His preseason performance also saw him struggle. There is plenty that Mustipher needs to work on, but for a Bears offensive line that ranked 27th overall last year, consistency at the center position is vital. Should he struggle enough, the Bears would have options with either Cody Whitehair, James Daniels, or even fellow Notre Dame alumni Alex Bars.
