Chicago Bears: 5 hot takes on Justin Fields, Matt Nagy, and more
By Evan Bruner
After the Chicago Bears opened the season with a 34-14 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, fans and analysts seem to have a lot to say.
Few teams entered the 2021 season with as many headlines as the Chicago Bears. From their rookie quarterback to their head coach and general manager, the Bears became a major talking point for fans and analysts across the league.
The Chicago Bears didn’t do anything to silence the noise in the loss to the Rams
Losing to the Rams the way the Bears did last week was unsettling for a franchise that has both their head coach and general manager on the hot seat. Fans across the league watched as the Bears were outclassed from start to finish on Sunday Night Football.
The Rams scored a touchdown on their opening drive and never looked back. The Bears were able to get within a touchdown late in the third quarter, but there was never a point where the Rams weren’t in control.
There were plenty of hot takes regarding the Bears ranging from their coach and GM to their personnel. It’s always fun to look at these takes and see if we think they are overreactions or plausible claims. I’m going to be looking at some of the key takeaways I’ve heard from other fans and analysts since Sunday’s game and give my personal opinion on them. It’s Week 1, so there is definitely a chance my stance on some of these issues changes as the year goes on.
