The Chicago Bears find themselves 1-1 going into Week 3 of the season. This is a big difference from 0-2 from an odds perspective of making the playoffs. The bears have yet to go 0-2 to open a season under Matt Nagy. This was one reason why I changed my opinion on which team was going to win last week. Originally, I had the Bears losing 28-20 but then shifted to a 24-21 victory.

We could potentially see Justin Fields start his first regular-season game in the NFL this week. Looking back at history, the Chicago Bears have played the Cleveland Browns 16 times — losing nine and only winning seven. Will this week be any different?

As I write this, the Chicago Bears are also atop the NFC North as the Vikings lost to the Cardinal 34-33. The Vikings lost as they always seem to do, a missed game-winning field goal. The Packers and Lions play tonight and whichever team wins will be tied with the Bears atop the division. Let’s take a peek at how the Chicago Bears stack up versus the Browns this week though, shall we?

Bears vs Browns Odds Week 2

The Week 3 betting odds on WynnBET have the Bears as big-time underdogs on the road versus the Browns. At this point, we don’t know if Andy Dalton (knee) or Justin Fields will be starting. As of now, Matt Nagy stated that Dalton will start if healthy. Well, that’s a pretty big if in my opinion. The chance of him starting this week is very slim if he indeed has a bone bruise.

The Browns find themselves 1-1 on the season as well. They lost in Week 1 to the Kansas City Chiefs but held their own against the 2019 Super Bowl champs. Cleveland then won in Week 2 over the Houston Texans who actually held their own versus the Browns.

WynnBET has the Bears as +7.5 underdogs. The Moneyline is set at +265 (bet $100 to win $265). The Browns on the other hand are set at -350 (bet $350 to win $100). The total for the game is set at an over/under of 46.5 points.

Bears vs Browns Prediction Week 2

These two teams have looked very different to start the year. Despite letting Houston hang around this week, the Browns offense has looked more efficient than Chicago’s. Matt Nagy will need to get things going and score some actual points if they want a chance to win. Don’t let the box score fool you with the Bears beating the Bengals 20-17 as one of those touchdowns came from a Roquan Smith pick-six touchdown.

If Justin Fields gets the start, I think the offense has a little more firepower this week. If Andy Dalton is somehow healthy (then he probably was healthy enough to finish the Bengals game), then the offense is probably going to look slightly more vanilla. Either way, I do think that the Bears finally get some things going. Gaining Mario Edwards from the suspension list this week should help the defense out too.

This one will be another close one. With Jarvis Landry most likely missing the game due to an MCL sprain and Odell Beckham Jr. still out (although he might return now with the Landry news), I’m going to give the nod to Chicago.

Bears 27 – Browns 23
