5 Chicago Bears who bounced back after Week 1
4. Jaylon Johnson
Jaylon Johnson was not why the Bears lost so badly in Week 1, but he was supposed to take a big step into year two, and it did not show. According to PFF, Johnson only allowed two receptions, but that came with 80 yards attached to it. On Sunday, it was one catch for nine yards.
The big difference is that he was targeted seven times on Sunday. Teams kept going at him, and he kept knocking passes away. He finished with four pass breakups and was the best target to reception cornerback in all of week 2.
Johnson going from slightly below average to the best corner of the week is a huge step up. It was needed, given the Bengals’ wideouts.
