Chicago Bears Week 2 Fantasy Football Review: Wide Receivers & Tight Ends

Wide Receivers:

  • Allen Robinson: 10.4 fantasy points / WR49 for the week.

With 48 WRs scoring better in fantasy football in comparison to the expectation that Allen Robinson is a top-10 fantasy WR, this was a bad week. Two bad weeks in a row for Robinson. The wideout caught only two out of the four targets he received for 12 yards, but was “saved” by a TD. It was encouraging that his final two targets were in the end zone, but one of those was a drop from Justin Fields that would have been a nice bump in his fantasy week.

  • Darnell Mooney: 12.6 fantasy points / WR43 for the week.

Darnell Mooney caught six of his eight targets for 66 yards vs. the Bengals. If you played Mooney, this finish was likely higher than what was projected for him but not by a ton. Not a big loss, not a big gain either of a week for fantasy football, but he is likely being started as a FLEX play anyways. Eight targets was definitely encouraging to see as he led the team in this category along with receiving yards as well.

Tight Ends:

  • Cole Kmet: 1 fantasy point / TE57 for the week.

The veteran Jimmy Graham saw zero targets on his 21 total snaps in this one, but the sophomore Kmet only saw and caught one target for no gain. After receiving seven targets in week one, there may have been some optimism for this to continue, but again with the Chicago Bears only throwing 24 times this was not going to be in Kmet’s favor. You also likely were not starting Cole Kmet in your average fantasy football league this week.

Up next for the Bears are the Cleveland Browns and a new week to project forward for the Bears fantasy players in the next slide.
