Did Matt Nagy admit to Justin Fields being better than he thought?

The eye test told me (and most everyone) that Justin Fields brought those explosive plays, despite not having a full grasp of how the NFL works yet. We saw his inexperience when he took a clean hit to the chin in the preseason game versus the Buffalo Bills. However, we saw more explosive plays that made everyone question, “what type of deal did Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace have with Andy Dalton?”

Alright, so why is it that we can all see how Justin Fields is the best option for this Chicago Bears team, yet Matt Nagy couldn’t? Do we really believe that he had no idea who Justin Fields is or could become? Clearly, Nagy had a plan and whether he is just stubborn and wants to stick to that plan, or he truly made a deal with Andy Dalton, no one will ever truly know.

During his latest press conference, Matt Nagy was asked about Justin Fields, specifically, how Nagy has never had a quarterback with Fields’ skillset and does a player like him open up Nagy’s creativity?

Within Matt Nagy’s response, he spoke about how they are seeing things out of Fields they weren’t seeing before now that he is able to practice with the ones. This sentence has been circulating throughout social media like wildfire.

Everyone is up in arms about it because Bears fans wanted Fields to start from the beginning. Had Fields been able to practice with the starters from the beginning, who knows where this offense would be — at least that’s what everyone (other than Matt Nagy apparently) is thinking.
