Chicago Bears Coaching Candidate: Greg Roman, OC – Baltimore Ravens

Want to see a coach who knows how to change up an offensive scheme to fit his players’ skills rather than try to force a square peg into a round hole? That is exactly what the Chicago Bears would get with Greg Roman calling the shots.

Roman has been the offensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens for the last three years. He was assistant head coach and tight ends coach of the Ravens in 2018. His ability to change up an offense to fit the likes of Lamar Jackson has been superb. That said, he does have a very solid track record with mobile quarterbacks.

We all know that Justin Fields is designed to be a mobile quarterback. Honestly, he could be the best pure thrower out of this group of four when it’s all said and done. He’s already more accurate than Lamar Jackson, Tyrod Taylor and Colin Kaepernick in my opinion (don’t let his completion percentage stats fool you).

Just as much as I’d like to see Justin Fields paired up with the likes of Brian Daboll, I would be amiss to ignore the pairing of Fields and a coach like Greg Roman as well.
