4. Eddie Goldman – Cap Hit $7.8M

This one is tough because everyone was completely fine with the deal when it happened. Eddie Goldman was young and ascending and had plenty of time left on his prime career years. Then COVID-19 happened. Whatever way it impacted Eddie Goldman, we have not seen him on a football field since.

He opted out in 2020, he missed OTAs in 2021, and he has had mysterious injuries throughout the season. The Bears did not place him on IR, indicating they thought he would be back by Week 3. We now enter week four without seeing Goldman.

This is really tough because the team is getting nothing out of 4.1% of their cap space. The assets that are invested here could have really helped in other ways.
