Letting the wrong players go

In the last couple of seasons, the Bears have elected to get rid of several key players. Some of these players include CB Kyle Fuller, LB Nick Kwiatkowski, and OT Charles Leno Jr.  Out of the three, Fuller is really the only one who is dominating. Before anyone comments about Kwiatkowski’s injury or how bad Leno is, remember what we have right now.

The Bears chose to keep players like Eddie Goldman and Jimmy Graham, yet have gotten almost no production from either of them.

Eddie Goldman opted out of the 2020 season, chose to skip camp in the summer, and now has yet to play a single snap in the 2021 season. The Bears are not a win-now team. In fact, they’re not even close! Releasing Eddie Goldman won’t have any impact on the Bears record and they would be saving a couple of millions of dollars.

I personally liked Jimmy Graham but the Bears aren’t using him. With one catch for 11 yards on the year, Graham is soaking up a pretty penny for not being very productive. Not only that but Cole Kmet is supposed to be the Bear’s future Tight end. The Bears keeping Graham makes you think that Kmet is not working out how they thought he would.

In three games, Kmet has seven catches for a total of 53 yards. Although the Bears’ offense has been one of the worst in the entire NFL, you would expect to see some more use out of the highly drafted tight end. It’s even worse when you see that Graham isn’t taking targets away from Kmet.
