Chicago Bears: 5 sneaky Lions players to watch in Week 4
By Pablo Rosero
For a winless team, first-year head coach Dan Campbell has had his team playing at a high level. The Lions have had a chance to win in two of their first three games and likely should’ve won against the Baltimore Ravens had it not been for Justin Tucker’s late-game heroics. The Chicago Bears will host this Lions team this Sunday.
The Bears on the other hand were blown out by both the Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns and narrowly defeated the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bears cannot take this Lions team at face value with the way they have played behind quarterback Jared Goff.
These five players may not all show up as major contributors on scouting reports but should be players the Bears must keep an eye on.
Sneaky players the Chicago Bears must watch: AJ Parker
Rookie AJ Parker was put into a larger role following former third-overall selection Jeff Okudah’s Week 1 injury. Overall he’s been up and down on the season but should have a big role this week.
While he hasn’t looked great in coverage, Parker had a top-10 grade on Pro Football Focus (PFF) run-defense grades for defensive backs. As a slot corner, Parker plays fearless against the run, an aspect of the game the Bears might want to ramp up.
