The Chicago Bears were able to bring their record back to .500 with a victory over the Detroit Lions last Sunday. This win put them at 2-2 on the year and second in the NFC North behind the Green Bay Packers. We saw Justin Fields get his second start and if you are boxscore watching, you’d think he had another rough day. Instead, he played very well and the explosive plays this team had were amazing compared to most seasons.

The running game was working early for the Chicago Bears and that set up the day for Fields. Fields still made mistakes, such as a strip-sack fumble, but he was able to recover it himself. He also threw an interception, but it was the right read and had he been able to sneak it past the defender who stuck his hands up to deflect it, the catch could have gone for a decent gain.

Now, the Chicago Bears will turn their attention to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders are 3-0 on the season, but playing tonight versus the Los Angeles Chargers. Even if the Raiders lose, the Chicago Bears need to be ready for a very tough matchup on the road. With reports that Andy Dalton could start this week, fans are ready to call for Matt Nagy’s head.

Bears vs Raiders Odds Week 5

The Week 5 betting odds on WynnBET have the Bears as +5.0 underdogs on the road. This could quickly change for or against them after the sportsbook sees how the Raiders play versus the Chargers tonight. It might be worth jumping on these numbers now, or maybe wait and see where the spread goes before deciding if Chicago can cover or not.

WynnBET has the Chicago Moneyline set at +185 (bet $100 to win $185).  The Raiders on the other hand are set at -220 (bet $220 to win $100). The total for the game is set at an over/under of 45.5 points.

Bears vs Raiders Prediction Week 5

I am not touching this game until I know who is going to start at quarterback and I would also like to make sure that Matt Nagy is not handling the play-calling again. If Nagy is not calling plays, then I would think the Bears could cover even if they don’t win. If Nagy takes play-calling back, take the Raiders to win this game easily.

We need to be careful because the Lions are not a good team and kicked themselves over and over versus Chicago. A 24-14 victory could have been a loss or much closer had the Lions not marched into the red zone three consecutive times to come away with zero points.

If Justin Fields starts I’d feel more confident as well since he has the ability to extend plays and push the ball downfield. I think the Bears surprise many people in this one but still fall short of a victory. Most likely not having David Montgomery could be an issue too.
