The Chicago Bears got a much-needed win over the Detroit Lions in Week 4 to improve to 2-2 on the season In a week filled with questions about who would be the starting quarterback and play-caller, the Bears were able to push through the adversity and pick up their second win of the season. This was also Justin Fields’ first win as a starter.

The Chicago Bears have turned a page by moving forward with Justin Fields

Justin Fields looked much better

Considering how bad the Bears looked against Cleveland, the only way to go was up, and that’s exactly what happened with the Chicago offense. Fields looked much more comfortable and was able to connect with receivers on several deep passes.

It was announced on Wednesday that Fields is now officially the starting quarterback and will continue to start even once Andy Dalton returns to full health. Not only is this exciting for fans who want to see their young quarterback play, but having Fields start full time could also prove to be beneficial to the offense as a whole.

David Montgomery’s injury could be consequential

One of the few negatives from week four was running back David Montgomery left the game with a knee injury. The team initially feared that It was season-ending, but it turned out to only be a knee sprain. Still, the Bears will be without their leading rusher for 4-5 weeks, and with Tarik Cohen still on the IR, the Bears running back room looks a little thin. The offense will have to lean Damien Williams and Khalil Herbert for the time being and may pursue some free agents.

Now that the Bears have committed to Fields as QB1, there is less drama surrounding the organization, but there are still plenty of hot takes fans have on the Bears ranging from coaches to possible trades and personnel.
