The Chicago Bears can never take the foot off the gas

One of the biggest things that irked me last Sunday was when the Bears had a huge lead in the fourth quarter and they started to run the ball to drain the clock too early. The Bears ran the ball six out of 10 times with one screen pass in their second and third to last drives of the game Sunday.

This led to them settling for a field goal and left the door open for a Detroit comeback in the fourth. If Detroit were to make a field goal they would’ve made it a one-score game. If they were to convert it to a touchdown and extra point, the Bears lead would’ve been down to three points with four minutes to go in the game.

dark. Next. Bears finally answer fans' desires

Even though the Lions comeback never happened, the Bears almost lost because they took their foot off the gas and got complacent with their early lead. I want to see Bill Lazor stay aggressive in the fourth all the way down to the victory formation.
