2. DeAndre Houston-Carson

The interception by DHC could not have been more timely. Early in the second half, the Bears led 14-3. However, their offense was stalling early in the quarter. To the rescue was DeAndre Houston-Carson another unheralded name who stepped up and made a huge pick.

The play was surprising because many did not expect DHC to even play a defensive snap. He had 45 in four games prior to this game. He is a backup safety, and even behind number three safety Deon Bush. So, with Tashaun Gipson on the sideline for some reason, and Deon Bush on the field as well, DHC became the third safety for this snap. He took advantage.

It is huge to get key contributions from depth players like this. It makes it easier for Sean Desai to mix and match looks, and shows how deep this group can be. DHC has been around for years as a special teams stud and finally gets some praise for his defense as well.
