Final thoughts on Week 5: Chicago Bears at Las Vegas Raiders

First thing’s first; was this even an away game? From all things I’ve heard, it sounded like the Chicago Bears fans were more present than Las Vegas Raiders fans. Now, I know the Raiders are a new team for Vegas, but that’s just under 1,800 miles away.

For Bears fans to make that place their second home this weekend was huge.

Also, this run game is something special. Obviously, losing David Montgomery is absolutely a stinger, but for Damien Williams and Khalil Herbert to step up as they did is a major win for the Chicago Bears.

This run offense could be one that is very, VERY good once the 2021 season continues into December. Having a three-headed monster in Montgomery, Williams, and Herbert could absolutely open the playbook wide open.

Along with that, the defense played awesome today. Darren Waller was shut down for the most part, as well as Josh Jacobs and the run game. Sean Desai called himself an absolutely wonderful defensive game, and that should be a nice piece of motivation moving into some more difficult and important games.

Moving forward, the Chicago Bears just need to work on playing more disciplined, as penalties still continue to bite them in the rears.

All-in-all, Soldier Field is going to be hopping for next week’s matchup against the cheesy Green Bay Packers.
