These five Chicago Bears must step up in order for the team to have a chance of upsetting their NFC North rivals the Green Bay Packers.

After back-to-back wins against the Detriot Lions and Las Vegas Raiders the Bears are about to start one of the tough stretches in all of football. That stretch includes the Packers, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and San Francisco.

The team kicks off that stretch of games against the Packers, a team hated in Chicago just as much as ketchup on a hot dog. While the Bears have won two in a row and are over .500 at the moment, the team still has a lot of improvements to make.

In order for the team to have a shot at winning this weekend, these five players will need to step up in a big way.

Akiem Hicks needs to step up for the Chicago Bears if healthy enough to play

Akiem Hicks only played one snap against the Detriot Lions in Week 4 and didn’t suit up against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5 due to a groin injury. He has also yet to practice this week due to the injury and his status this week is up in the air, but the Bears could use him.

The Packers’ offense relies heavily on their rushing attack led by Aaron Jones, who already has a 4-touchdown performance on the season, and AJ Dillon. The Bears would love to have Hicks and his run-stuffing against the Packers.

His status will be one to monitor heading into Sunday, but if he can’t suit up it is likely the biggest loss for the team this week against a stout rush attack.
