Chicago Bears disappointing player No. 2: Offensive line’s pass-blocking
Going into this game, the Green Bay Packers averaged two sacks per game, with only getting four sacks in one game against the San Francisco 49ers. That being said, the Packers aren’t necessarily the league’s best at getting to the quarterback.
And they weren’t great at getting to him, per se, but they were making for a not-so-fun time to be Justin Fields.
I feel like almost each time Fields dropped back to pass, the rush was getting to him before a receiver even made their first cuts. And if that’s the case, the plays can’t be called if they’re going to take four to six seconds to develop.
Now, if the team wants to be a run-heavy Baltimore Ravens offense with some passing intertwined, I’m not against that. That being the case, they’re not going to run the same scheme as the Buffalo Bills with the pieces on the roster currently.
With a developing rookie quarterback, too, it’s necessary to give him time to process what’s going on, as that’s going to be a long process as a rookie.
Now, what’s the final leg of this week’s disappointing ladder for the Chicago Bears?
