Eddie Jackson is no longer the future for the Chicago Bears

The following draft selection for the Chicago Bears will be a bit tougher to grade. These mock drafts will change drastically based on how the season progresses. Teven Jenkins and Larry Borom will determine if the Chicago Bears need to address tackle and move one or both to guard or leave tackle alone during the draft and focus on the interior.

I believe the Chicago Bears are learning under Matt Nagy. It took way too long, but Nagy seems like he understands that he needs to be the head coach of the Chicago Bears and focus on that aspect of his job. With that said, if he listens to his staff like a head coach, he would know that he needs a proper strong safety for the defense instead of looking at his playbook.

Enter Jaquan Brisker from Penn State. The Chicago Bears might have to move up a bit for him, but I believe he could be in sight. Most teams want that Eddie Jackson-styled player. Brisker is that Adrian Amos box safety. You will not go over the middle of the field with him playing over the top.

Listed at 6’1″ and 204 pounds, Brisker has four interceptions, 104 total tackles, seven TFL’s and 11 pass defends on his career. Brisker is a workout warrior, much like Adrian Amos. Penn State creates workout kings. Jaquan Brisker’s athletic results, according to a draft combine reporter Dwight Galt reveal a 38.5-inch vertical leap, 4.30 40-yard dash, 3.98 short shuttle, 325-pound clean, 400-pound bench press, and a 500-pound squat. Wow right?

Jaquan Brisker is another freak athlete from Penn State who could become an Eric Berry type of player if used correctly. What stops him from becoming a first-round talent? Lack of production. Much like Odafe Oweh, who fell to the Baltimore Raven’s 31st overall pick, Brisker lacks production and instincts when it comes to deep coverage. He is fast and rangy, but more like Johnathan Abram.

Some teams like the Ravens and the Raiders make selections a bit differently than other teams. However, in this mock draft, these two players were the ones who were available. The Chicago Bears should pull the trigger on them if they are available.
