Chicago Bears disappointing player No. 2: Bilal Nichols

How the hell does a losing football team get four unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in three weeks?! I need this to make sense to me ASAP.

It seems like year after year, this team proves their lack of discipline with these dumb after-the-whistle penalties.

This week, Bilal Nichols gave Buccaneers center Ryan Jensen a quick jab to the facemask. Why football players punch a facemask will never make sense.

Whether it be Mario Edwards, Javon Wims, Anthony Miller, and so on, the Chicago Bears have proven time and time again that they’re not a disciplined football team; and opposing teams know that kind of stuff.

While Matt Nagy keeps his lackadaisical offensive scheme to himself because of “competitive advantage”, the Chicago Bears have given plenty of film to other teams that adversity doesn’t sit well with them and a punch is incoming.

Now, this game wasn’t necessarily in reach, but the action is more important here than the results.

Say this game is a one/two-score game. If Bilal Nichols does that and gets kicked out of the game, that’s more of a blow than 15 yards, especially when Akiem Hicks is already out due to injury. It’s just something that seems to go hand-in-hand with Chicago Bears football, and it’s incredibly disappointing to see self-inflicted wounds like these.

Who gets to wrap us up this week, Chicago Bears fans? You might have an idea.
