The Chicago Bears need to be sellers at the trade deadline
The 2021 Chicago Bears season was full of promise. Ryan Pace brought in a new quarterback that has the physical traits to be a star one day in Justin Fields. Pace then double-dipped at offensive tackle bringing in his future left and right tackles in Teven Jenkins and Larry Borom while additionally retooling this wide receiver core.
Unfortunately, it hasn’t panned out like we had hoped it would. Fields has had no help from his incompetent head coach in Matt Nagy. Jenkins picked up an injury to miss the majority of the season irritating his already banged-up back. Borom then suffered an injury in the preseason after looking very solid in his limited time.
To nobody’s surprise, Nagy hasn’t improved at all either. His incompetent offense with Mitch Trubisky carried over to both Andy Dalton and Fields and has made the Bears look worse in 2021 than they ever have with Trubisky at the helm. Due to this, the Bears need to acquire more picks and worry about the future without Nagy.
Even though the Bears don’t have a first-round pick for the 2022 NFL Draft, they can still accumulate even more picks to add younger talent to this roster, and frankly, Ryan Pace has done better in the later rounds any. So, if that is the case, who should the Bears be actively shopping as the trade deadline approaches?
