The Chicago Bears lost 33-22 to the San Francisco 49ers on Halloween without both Matt Nagy and Khalil Mack.

After a promising start, the Chicago Bears and rookie quarterback, Justin Fields fell to the San Francisco 49ers in what was the best game of Fields’ young career. The offense looked as good as it had, but the defense couldn’t get a stop down the stretch, and that ended up being the difference.

The Bears missed Khalil Mack

The Bears’ defense was not the same without star pass-rusher Khalil Mack. The Bears weren’t able to get much pressure and didn’t register a single hit on 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. This game served as a reminder that Mack’s impact goes far beyond the stat sheet, and his health is crucial to the defense’s success going forward. Mack is currently listed as questionable for Monday night’s game against the Steelers along with Eddie Jackson.

The Bears didn’t make any moves at the trade deadline

The NFL trade deadline is usually underwhelming, and although some notable names were moved this week, none of them involved the Bears. The Bears appeared to have some players they were willing to trade, but for a team to be a seller, they need to have buyers, and Chicago wasn’t able to drum up enough interest to seriously consider any trades. This means the Bears roster is essentially finalized for the remainder of the season.

As the Chicago Bears continue to fall in the standings, the criticism from the fans and the media has risen.

Here are four hot takes fans have on the Bears.
