Week 9 Winner No. 2: Allen Robinson

Week after week Allen Robinson has been quiet. It has almost turned Bears fans against him and how they feel about bringing him back next year. No matter how you see it, Robinson is still the best receiver on this team and showed it today. Although the yards were not crazy, he still was able to get open and found a nice rhythm with Justin Fields throughout the game. Credit to Bill Lazor, who seemed to make Robinson a focal point of the game-plan today.

Robinson finished the game with four receptions on six targets for 68 yards. This is one of his best games of the season and what is essential is that he saw a steady diet of targets. Over the last few weeks, we saw Fields favor guys like Darnell Mooney and Cole Kmet, which is fine, but Robinson is great at what he does and needs to get the ball thrown his way.

Since the Bears did not trade Allen Robinson, he will be part of this offense for at least the rest of the season. It would be nice to keep him after this year to maintain enough playmakers on the offense. If he and Fields start to connect maybe, it can make the relationship between Robinson and the Bears better and convince him to open up extension talks again.

Robinson did not do anything crazy tonight, and he is yet to get even close to 100 yards in any game this year, but he came up big when the team needed him most. That 39-yard catch on a slot fade late in the fourth set up the touchdown to take the lead, and it reminded us of how Fields can be dynamic when the receivers are getting open as Robinson did on that play. Hopefully, we see more of Allen Robinson going forward.
