Chicago Bears Low-Impact Player No. 3: Allen Robinson, WR

While Allen Robinson has usually been a wide receiver that’s been called “QB-proof”, his lack of production this year could end that narrative — at least for the 2021 season.

Having played around 80-90% of offensive snaps each game this season — minus Week 4 against Detroit (69%) — Allen Robinson is one of the more disappointing low-impact players. He’s a guy that should be putting up numbers, and for the most part has, except for this season.

Now, I’ll give Robinson some benefit of the doubt, as the offensive scheme hasn’t been too inclusive for him; but let’s be honest, it rarely has been throughout his four years with the Bears. Yet, outside this year, Robinson’s been among the league’s best hands.

That’s far from the truth this year, despite what PFF tweets.

This year, Allen Robinson has 44 targets, 26 catches, 271 yards, and just one touchdown dating all the way back to Week 2.

Even with the quarterback and coaching issues that Chicago has faced, Allen Robinson’s clearly one of the more low-impact players thus far in the 2021 season, especially when looking at the expectations that were set for himself coming into the year.
