Chicago Bears Low-Impact Player No. 5: Danny Trevathan, LB

When someone’s paid $7,250,000 per year to play football at the highest level, that’s what they should do.

After Danny Trevathan was placed on IR on Sep. 2, 2021, it wasn’t until Week 5 that Trevathan made his first appearance of the 2021 season.

Since his return, Danny Trevathan has played no more than 27% of plays — and that 27% defensive snap count came in the 38-3 loss to Tampa Bay, so I’m not sure if I’d say he was a high-impact player in that game.

This season, he only has 12 tackles, which is far below what a player with his contract should be producing.

Now, it could be due to the Chicago Bears picking up Alec Ogletree to assist in the middle of the field, but even still, Danny Trevathan hasn’t been nearly the impact player he should be given how much the Chicago Bears are paying him.
