Bears: Eddie Goldman trending up heading into second half of season
The Steelers finished the game with 105 total rushing yards, and Najee Harris had 62 rushing yards on 22 carries — a 2.8 yards per carry average. Harris’ yards per carry was tied for his lowest average on the season when he had the same output in the Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills.
Heading into Week 10, the Bears’ defense was ranked No. 23 in rushing yards allowed per game, with 122.8. But the Monday night loss was a step in the right direction for defensive coordinator Sean Desai’s defense.
In the last three games against the Packers, Buccaneers and 49ers, the Bears gave up an average of 160.3 rushing yards per game.
If the unit wants that improvement to continue after the bye week, not only will Goldman need to continue his level of play but so will the entire defense.
Eddie Goldman let his play do the talking against the Steelers, and that’s exactly what he and the Bears would prefer to happen in the final eight games of the season.
