Chicago Bears Week 12 Winner No. 2: Cole Kmet

Cole Kmet has quietly become the second-best receiving threat on this team in terms of weekly production, only behind Darnell Mooney. He has seen a steady diet of targets going back to Week 5 when he seemed to actually be involved in the offense.

He finished this game with eight catches on eleven targets for 65 yards. While he should be used more in the red zone, he has been great as a receiving option for this team and has put up the numbers to back it up lately.

Kmet leading the Bears in targets is a good sign for the young tight end. He is becoming a staple in this offense and has already built chemistry with Justin Fields in some recent games.

Andy Dalton is a veteran and understands how a reliable tight end helps the offense, and it showed today as the two connected eight times. We knew he was improving as a run blocker and has been good in that area this year. Now he has become a top threat on this offense and is only improving.

There has been a lot of criticism with Kmet going back to last year. We know he can catch the ball but he has been targeted for his lack of athleticism and ability to get open. He might not run routes like Travis Kelce, but Coke Kmet has become a master of finding holes in the defense, especially against zone coverage.

Kmet being a reliable safety option for whoever is at quarterback, as well as a downfield threat at times due to his size, makes him a valuable piece of this offense and gets me excited to think about what is to come with him.
