Chicago Bears Head Coach Candidate: Luke Fickell – Stock Up
You are going to read a lot about potential head coaches for this Chicago Bears team until the team either announces that Matt Nagy is sticking around in 2022 or they announce they hired someone to replace him. The point of this longwinded article is to put everything in one place and we can update it weekly as changes take place.
Look at how Joe Brady was already fired this season. Well at some point, he might be pulled as a candidate if he takes a coaching position in the collegiate ranks. This is just one example. Lincoln Riley and Brian Kelly would have been potential candidates to consider, but both moved on to new positions at USC and LSU.
One coach that we already discussed was Luke Fickell. Fickell makes this list still as he was already being considered for head coaching gigs as recently as last season. Now, he led his Cincinnati Bearcats to an undefeated season and the fourth spot in the 2021 College Football Playoffs. This is why his stock is on the rise, although I think it will die down after they likely lose Alabama in the semifinals.
Fickell has helped mold an explosive offense in Cincinnati. Is there any chance that he can mold something similar here in Chicago?
