The Chicago Bears lost to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football 45-30 in what was a tale of two halves. After coming out with great energy and scoring 27 points in the first half the Bears were outscored 24-3 in the second half which helped Green Bay pull away with ease late in the game. While many did not perform well, a few players were bright spots in the game and deserve some credit.

The familiar faces continue to impress for the Chicago Bears.

Chicago Bears Week 14 Winner No. 1: Robert Quinn

After a week where the pass rush seemed non-existent, the Chicago Bears looked better against Green Bay. Granted, the Packers have backups playing most positions on the line. Still, Robert Quinn brought Aaron Rodgers down twice in this game and was wreaking havoc all night long.

Robert Quinn now has 14 sacks on the year and is on pace to break the Chicago Bears’ single-season all-time sack record, which is held by Richard Dent who had 17.5 sacks in 1984. That is crazy to think about just one year removed from a two-sack season in which people were calling for Ryan Pace’s head since Quinn was signed to a five-year deal. This year Robert Quinn has been a candidate for defensive MVP of the Bears along with Roquan Smith and is showing a new juice despite his age (31) this season.

He was able to take advantage of Yosh Nijam who was starting as a backup left tackle in place of David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins. On the other side was Trevis Gipson who also had a sack in this game. While the rest of the pass rush was not strong against the Packers, the edge rushers did their job, especially Quinn.

Robert Quinn seems to be more athletic as he gets older. He is consistently sacking quarterbacks while being folded and in some very tough positions. He has been using his athleticism a lot this year now that he is healthy, and it is showing in big ways. He is able to bend around the edge of tackles to get to the quarterback quickly in order to cause pressure. That, combined with his veteran experience has led to a bounce-back year for Quinn who is quietly among the league leaders in sacks.
