The Chicago Bears lost to the Minnesota Vikings at home on Monday Night Football in what was a game to forget. The team fell apart and was unable to get anything going on offense the whole game. The defense kept them in the game, and they should get a lot of credit for how they played against a good offense, and they were missing so many players due to Covid.

The winners for this week are all from the defensive end for the Chicago Bears.

Chicago Bears Week 15 Winner No. 1: Sean Desai

What an effort it was this week from Sean Desai. He has had his ups and downs in his first year as a defensive coordinator, but he showed this week that he was prepared after being out of the building with Covid all week. The fact that he was able to put a game plan together that would work on such short notice is amazing and is definitely an addition to the plus column this year.

Also, the Bears were missing star defenders in Jaylon Johnson, Eddie Jackson, and Trevis Gipson, among other players. There were practice squad players filling in all over the field, and to their credit they definitely exceeded expectations. That goes back to the coaching from Desai and the position coaches, so they deserve a shoutout this week.

The cornerback group for this week consisted of Kindle Vildor, Thomas Graham Jr., and Marqui Christian as the notable players. They used guys like Teez Tabor and Deon Bush in hybrid roles in order to fill out the secondary. Most of these names see very little snaps in a game if any at all. They played their hearts out and you could see how much effort they gave. There were some communication issues, but they played solidly the whole game.

Desai called the right packages in terms of coverage for this game and that definitely was not easy to do considering who he had to work with. Desai showed a lot of grit with the way he coached the defense in this game and Bears fans should be excited about what this defense can look like going forward.
