Chicago Bears Week 15 Winner No. 2: Akiem Hicks

How great was it to have Akiem Hicks back? His energy and passion for the game is unmatched and he is the heart of this defense when he is on the field. It is truly sad that he is on his way out of Chicago after this year. He is still a game-wrecker and showed that he can still cause havoc in both run-stopping and pass rush.

He finished the game with five total tackles with two for a loss and two sacks to go along with four quarterback hits. That is the kind of game you think you would see from a franchise defensive lineman, and Akiem Hicks is doing it at the ripe age of 32. If he could have stayed healthy the last couple of years, he could have gotten more attention because he is one of the most consistent linemen in the NFL.

Besides his stats and what he did in terms of production against the Vikings, he seemed to have vigorous energy that we do not see from many players on this defense. They looked invigorated as a group with Akiem Hicks leading the charge. This shows how valuable he is to this team and has been over the last few years. He will be loved forever by Bears fans and games like this reminds us how good he has been. He is probably the best free agent signing by the Bears in recent history, even over Allen Robinson.

It was awesome to see Hicks back out on the field and what made it even better was that he was going at it with Dalvin Cook all night. Those two seem to hate each other on the field and it brings out a tense competition between the two. Every play Hicks made he was sure to let Cook know about.
