Chicago Bears fans would have preferred to already know Matt Nagy’s fate

The Chicago Bears are a team that has never fired a head coach before the end of a season in their 101 years of existence. The hope for most fans was that this would finally change due to the new rule that was set in place this year. Having two extra weeks to interview and get to know potential head coaching candidates is definitely an advantage.

Have you ever hired someone or been hired for a job and it takes multiple interviews with multiple people? This is what needs to happen here in Chicago. The problem is, who will be doing the interviewing? More on this later. For now, all that Chicago Bears fans want to hear is that Matt Nagy is officially not being brought back to coach this team in 2022. This is like the stocking stuffer and should have been announced already.

That said, I think fans would still be happy to hear the news today despite the team finding a way to beat the Seattle Seahawks 25-24 yesterday. That win should not change anything and this team needs to move on from Matt Nagy. Unfortunately, I have my doubts that an announcement takes place seeing that he has a press conference scheduled for 12:15 pm today. If that happens, I doubt he’s being fired today or any day before the end of the regular season.
