Chicago Bears Head Coach Candidate: Ryan Day – Stock Neutral

Last Week: Stock Neutral

The Rose Bowl is actually being played while we speak and well, it’s not looking too great. The Ohio State Buckeyes are currently losing 28-14 to Utah after going down 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. I try not to take too much stock in these bowl games, but we can still pay attention to play calling and other small details.

As the game is still being played, I’m going to leave Ryan Day’s stock as neutral. That said, he is probably the only other college coach I would be interested in outside of Jim Harbaugh. For this reason, I’m removing Luke Fickell from the coaching stock report. Cincinnati was embarrased by Alabama yesterday in a 27-6 loss.

There have been rumors that Trace Armstrong could be brought into Chicago to take over in a new President of Football Operations role. He would essentially take over Ted Phillips role on the football side of things. If that happens, there is a good chance that he would want to bring Ryan Day with him, no matter who is brought in at general manager. Armstrong is currently Day’s and Nagy’s agent and has publicly denied these rumors.
