Chicago Bears: Five prospects to watch in the CFP Championship
By Pablo Rosero
Henry To’o To’o is another prospect who should be there in the third round
Once again this player is picked because the Bears need support at the position.
Alabama’s Henry To’oTo’o has an interesting story on his way to the Crimson Tide. He started as a highly touted recruit that came down to Tennessee and Alabama. To’oTo’o decided Tennessee but only lasted two seasons before finally arriving in Tuscaloosa and playing for Nick Saban.
It’s not difficult to understand why To’oto’o was so highly touted and why Saban never gave up in attempting to convince the linebacker to play for him. In his first season with the Tide, To’oTo’o not only leads the team in tackles, but he’s also the defensive play-caller.
The Bears have relied heavily on Roquan Smith and Danny Trevathan, but the latter saw his season cut short ending up on the injured reserve. At 31, Trevathan has a year left on his deal, and letting him walk could save the team money come 2023.
To’o To’o would fit alongside Smith since both players have a nose for the football. More importantly, Smith will still produce no matter who is on the field with him.
Middle linebacker isn’t a pressing need for the Bears, but considering the history at the position, it isn’t the worst option to consider.
