Chicago Bears: This plan could convince the Saints to trade Sean Payton
Presumably, the Saints would be more open to trading Sean Payton along with going along with all the other trades if they could visualize their final product for the 2022 season. With this in mind, here are some projected draft picks to fill the Saints’ needs.
Saints 2022 mock draft Rounds 1-3
The Saints have the following draft picks by round:
1st; 2x2nds; 3x3rds; 4th; 5th; and a 7th for a total of eight picks
Round 1, Pick No. 15
Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
Round 2, Pick No. 39th (via the Bears)
Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn
Round 2, Pick No. 46
Travis Jones, DT, Connecticut
Round 3, Pick No. 98
R.J. Roderick, S, South Carolina
Round 3, Pick No. 99
Nolan Smith, EDGE, Georgia
Another plus for the Saints is that a Super Bowl-winning head coach Doug Pederson is on the market for a new team. He would be a good replacement for Payton as the Saints head coach. Let’s assume all these changes take place.
Here is a possible ironic outcome of all these changes. Along with Doug Pederson becoming the Saints’ new head coach, he hires Matt Nagy as his offensive coordinator. Then as a result of all of these machinations, the Bears meet the Saints in the 2022 NFC Championship game. This game would be some high drama, NFL style.
