The Chicago Bears have made it clear through the rumor mill that Matt Nagy will not be coaching the team in 2022. Matt Nagy knows it too, despite not wanting to admit it. He spoke recently about how he is going to share play-calling duties with Bill Lazor versus the Minnesota Vikings today and they are going to have fun with it.

As of right now, only two teams are without a head coach as the NFL heads into Week 18 of the season — the Las Vegas Raiders and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Raiders “mutually” moved on from Jon Gruden after an investigation into the Washington Football Team led to multiple homophobic and hateful emails by Gruden.

Matt Nagy hasn’t been the worst coach, but the Chicago Bears need to let him go

Urban Meyer, the former head coach of the Jaguars, said “hold my beer” to the world as he went through a series of events proving he is not the best human being either. Meyer did not even last a full season with the Jaguars and this will probably go down as one of, if not the worst head coach hiring in NFL history.

The Jaguars have been taking advantage of the new NFL rule that allows teams to virtually interview head-coaching candidates during the final two weeks of the season as long as the team has fired their existing head coach and/or notified the league that the current head coach that he will not be returning for the following season. The Chicago Bears have yet to do either, despite it being clear that Matt Nagy will not be returning.

We are now less than 24 hours away from “Black Monday” when most teams choose to fire their head coaches. The Bears will have plenty of competition on top of the Jaguars and Raiders as these other teams could all be looking for a new head coach for the 2022 NFL season.
