The Chicago Bears will be competing against NFC North rival, the Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings elected to hire Mike Zimmer back in 2014. During that time, the team has struggled to be a consistent contender. Over his eight-year career, the Vikings have only four winning seasons and have only made the playoffs three times. The team faces the Chicago Bears today and will either end up 8-9 on the year or 7-10. Either way, the team has struggled over the last two years and this is a “what have you done for me” league more than anything else.
Throughout his eight-year career as the Vikings head coach, Zimmer has two playoff wins under his belt but never made it to the big show. Had the team made a Super Bowl run in 2019 or 2017, it’s quite possible that Zimmer would be safe. Instead, the Vikings have made it known through the rumor mill that he is most likely out as the head coach.

The Vikings have had a very solid core of players during Zimmer’s tenure. The team has not lived up to expectations and this in itself is probably why he is coaching his last game today. Could the Chicago Bears be helping push Zimmer out with a win? Maybe it is in their best interest to lose and keep Zimmer in Minneapolis.
