Chicago Bears GM Candidate: 10
Reggie McKenzie – Dolphins, Executive

Before I get into anything regarding McKenzie’s background, I have to point out that this hire just cannot happen. Not unless the Chicago Bears plan on trading Khalil Mack this offseason. It turns out that Khalil Mack already had a bad taste in his mouth prior to Jon Gruden arriving. According to Vic Tavor of The Athletic, “Mack was frustrated that the Raiders decided to extend quarterback Derek Carr and guard Game Jackson’s contracts — fellow 2014 draft picks — before taking care of him.”

It appears that after that, Mack was not willing to talk with anyone within the organization. That’s right, it seems that Reggie McKenzie should be more to blame for the Raiders shipping Khalil Mack (thank you), to the Chicago Bears. Why on earth should he now be the Bears general manager? Not to mention, he had one winning season with the Raiders — he was fired after seven years.

Chicago Bears GM Candidate: 9
Glenn Cook – Browns, Vice President of Player Personnel

When I look at the Cleveland Browns, I just do not get excited enough when it comes to players on this team. Myles Garrett is obviously a big plus and they have some very solid offensive linemen over the years too. Nick Chubb also comes to mind on the offensive side of the ball. Cook has been the vice president of player personnel for the last two seasons. Prior to that, he spent four seasons as assistant director of pro scouting.

Before coming to Cleveland, Cook spent two years as a scouting assistant with the Colts and was a pro scout for the Packers from 2012 to 2015. When I look at Cook’s resume, it is hard to see what stands out. I’d have to hear him answer my questions in an interview to determine if he deserves to move up my rankings.
