3. Khalil Shakir, Boise State

If the Chicago Bears have one spot locked up it is Darnell Mooney. If there is one spot that Mooney does not frequent it is the slot.  You can guarantee the Bears are going to draft or add a slot wideout this offseason. Khalil Shakir lived in the slot for Boise State and was a target hog during his last season.

Matt Eberflus says he wanted an explosive team, and Shakir is not your slow, but shifty slot. He is more linear, and fast working out of the slot, which works a long way in his ability to create after the catch.

Shakir is a bit thin, and his experience is only in the slot, which will limit his projection and when he gets drafted. Still, a speed-only slot wideout does fit into the Bears’ thoughts to have an explosive passing offense.

Things you will want to see from Shakir this week include getting over-concentration drops and expanding his route tree down the field.
