With the Chicago Bears hiring a General Manager with an offensive line background, you would have to assume that he is going to focus on rebuilding the offensive line. Ryan Poles has already mentioned this briefly, but things will really get set in motion when scouts, coaches, and more meet up at the Senior Bowl.
The top Senior offensive lineman in the country can meet and greet and work out with the Chicago Bears in this setting. Who are five players the team has to have their eyes on?
5. Bernhard Raimann, Central Michigan
Bernhard Rainmann is new to football overall, and even more new to the offensive line. He came to Central Michigan as a tight-end prospect who came to America from Austria. However, by the end of his time at CMU, he was the starting left tackle.
With two years of starting left tackle, and most of it coming against MAC competition, the questions for Raimann are going to be obvious this week. He has to show that he can handle the competition increase and that he is ready to beat NFL-worthy athletes.
On video, he looks athletic, and as a former tight end, he looks comfortable with light feet. There are some questions about his strength and anchor as he is still putting on weight to complete his body transformation.
With the particular questions that are posed to Raimann, he is the perfect player to follow in this type of setting.
