1. Zion Johnson, Boston College

If there is one player that may not even be on the board by the time the Chicago Bears select it will be Zion Johnson. Johnson played left tackle in 2020 but went back to Boston College to play his more natural position of left guard.

After going outside for a year, his transition back to the inside made him a better player. He was dominant this season. Johnson really made strong improvement with his hand play out on the edge, and now can really pack a punch and hold his own in the phone booth.

Johnson is technically sound, and his biggest asset is his anchor. He can drop his weight and hold his base which helps against nose tackles, and players with more weight than him. There are some minor deficiencies in his game, but the question with Johnson appears to be how can he go?

He is a bit tapped out physically and is an older prospect, but this is a refined player who will start immediately. If he did fall to the Chicago Bears’ pick, he would have to be a player that they seriously consider.
